Scientific proposal

ISTERH-16 Call for Symposium Proposals due September 30, 2025.

Proposals will be reviewed by the ISTERH Scientific Program Committee and decisions communicated by November 30, 2025. Please send your proposals and/or questions to Jennifer Freeman, Chair ISTERH-16 Scientific Program Committee and ISTERH President (2024-2026), at jfreema@purdue.edu with the subject line ‘ISTERH-16 Proposal’. ISTERH-16 welcomes proposals for symposia addressing a broad range of scientific topics including but not limited to:

Transport and metabolism of trace elements
Trace element nutritional health considerations in children
Epidemiological approaches for studying metal-induced toxicities
Mitochondrial mechanisms of metal toxicity
Metal toxicity and neurological disease outcomes
Mechanisms of metal carcinogenesis
Advances in bioinformatic or A.I. approaches for mechanistic understanding of trace element health effects
Epigenetic modification as a transgenerational mechanism in metal toxicity
Advancing risk assessment using new approach models or technology in elemental analysis
Mechanisms by which endocrine disruption causes metal toxicity
Trace elements in One Health approaches
Environmental biomonitoring of trace elements

In your proposal, please indicate whether you prefer a 60- or 90-minute time slot (4 to 6 talks per session, respectively). Chairs and speakers of selected symposia will receive 20% and 15% discounts, respectively, in registration fees for this conference. This discount will be reimbursed through ISTERH. Please submit your proposal that consists of the following (example is located at link on bottom of page):

  • Your symposium title
  • A short abstract summarizing the overall topic and goals for the symposium (~200 words)
  • Titles for each talk
  • Speaker information for each talk (with email address)
  • A short description of each presentation (~100 words each).
