🧠 Call for Symposium Proposals
International Society for Zinc Biology (ISZB) 2026
📍 São Paulo, Brazil
🗓 June 3–6, 2026
We are pleased to invite symposium proposals for the upcoming 9th International Society for Zinc Biology (ISZB) Meeting, to be held in the lively city of São Paulo, Brazil. This global event will gather leading experts, emerging researchers, and trainees to discuss groundbreaking research in zinc biology across various disciplines.
Symposia will serve as the core of the scientific program, and we welcome proposals that showcase innovative science, address significant biological or biomedical questions, and reflect the diversity of our international research community.
We particularly encourage submissions that:
Highlight geographical, gender, and career-stage diversity
Include early-career investigators and trainees
Promote collaborative or interdisciplinary topics
🔹 Symposium Proposal Guidelines
Each symposium will last 60 or 90 minutes and generally consist of:
3–6 speakers, each delivering a 15–20 minute presentation
A session chair or co-chairs to facilitate and introduce speakers
Time allocated for discussion or audience Q&A
Our scope encompasses a broad range of topics in Zinc Biology, including but not limited to:
Zinc signalling in neurobiology, immunity, cardiovascular health, or development/aging
Molecular mechanisms and cellular homeostasis
Metalloproteins, transporters, metallothioneins, and sensors
Imaging, sensing, and analytical technologies
Zinc’s role in disease models and clinical settings
Cross-disciplinary or translational approaches
Emerging concepts, debates, or challenges in the field
